Woodblock
This is my first woodblock print! I got some Shina plywood and wood-carving tools from McClain’s printmaking supplies with some of the funds from the GCAC grant last year. The words are from one of my favorite Randy Newman songs, which inspired me to think about which people always show up in my dreams and in what contexts.
This was really an exercise in learning how to control the wood-carving tools and how the wood feels, but I’m pretty okay with the results!
I tried a played around with coloring in a few different ways to see what I liked best, below is another example!
