Stephen’s Work
Stephen Goldmeier is a printmaker living and working in Columbus, Ohio. He works primarily in letterpress (hand-set metal and wood type) and relief printing (linoleum and wood blocks). He is interested in how printed material’s role in our lives can range from ephemera like a to-do list scribbled on a ripped bit of newspaper to precious artworks and even priceless mementos. His work is inspired by propaganda imagery, Japanese woodblock printing, and Ohio’s natural environment and wildlife. He has received grant funding from the Greater Columbus Arts Council and has shown work at the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center, the German Village Meeting Haus, and at Phoenix Rising Printmaking Cooperative.
